Gaussian splatting is a 3D rendering technique that uses light rays to capture and reconstruct realistic images of objects/spaces. Since it's invention, it remains costly and resource-intensive. My lab's goal is to make this process more accessible by developing a simplified capture pipeline. My main role within the team is to create tools usable for artists (ex. batcher scripts), along with compiling our 3D scans using Unreal Engine 5 (creating immersive experiences).

Iowa Reading Research Center (IRRC) Dashboard translates a complex Moodle database into one clear visual dashboard, allowing IRRC staff to evaluate effectiveness of learning courses and make informed decisions for course design. This full-stack application is built using MySQL, React, and Express tools.

Pultizer Webscraper collects Pulitzer Prize images and metadata in order to study patterns of representation and visual bias in AI training data sources. It uses python libraries such as curl_cffi to fetch image content, pandas (dataFrame) to store and visualize the data, and spaCy for analysis. This project was commissioned by the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Iowa.
